The chair is both a model for understanding architecture and a laboratory for the concise expression of ideas, materials, fabrication, and form. As individual as its authors, the chair provides a medium that is a minimal controllable structure, ripe for material and conceptual experiments.

The concept behind this chair was to create a very geometric chair; designed from primitive shapes but with a contemporary aesthetic.

It is composed of 3 materials and 3 elements: the spine, the legs and the seat. Ash, white oak, and metal are the three materials chosen. A raw piece of ash acts as the "backbone" and holds the chair together. This chair is designed as a side chair and is not meant for everyday use.
