Ciudad Juan Bosch (CJB) is a governmental public bidding under the "Ley de Fideicomisos de Tierras para el Mercado Inmobiliario" in the Dominican Republic.

The call for the bidding aimed to generate 25,000 affordable housing units. Under this law, five-story buildings without elevators are allowed to stimulate the construction of affordable units. Because of the project’s proximity to the Military Air Force Base, there is a maximum height restriction of 15 meters. From the required 25,000 units, 10 % could be used for other housing typologies that differ from the affordable description.

Our proposal has been conceived as an integrated urban center that would accommodate the necessary public services for the residents, consolidating all their activities (live, work, exercise, education) on-site.

CJB will become, initially, an important node and will serve as a constant attractor until eventually becoming the true space of civic representation of the East side of Santo Domingo; a kind of new alternative centrality to the Distrito Nacional.
